After it was announced that the 2020 MLB Draft would be limited to the first five rounds, the remaining logistical details have been finalized, according to a string of tweets from Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Most notably, the entire draft will be conducted remotely, much like it was prior to 2009 when the first night of the three-day event was brought to MLB Network.

The first 37 picks, comprising the first round and competitive balance round A, will be made on Wednesday, June 10. The remaining 123 selections will be made on Thursday, June 11.

Instead of the typical “war” rooms, where baseball operations personnel gather to make their team’s selections, employees will have to interact via video conferencing software.

A senior representative for each organization will then be in contact with the Major League Baseball commissioner’s office to submit their pick.

The Mets own six picks this year, including the 19th overall selection and a compensation pick from the Philadelphia Phillies for losing Zack Wheeler in free agency.
