Mets Beat Yanks In Wild 2-1 Walkoff Win
Wow, what a game… What a rollercoaster of emotions… I don’t even know where to start… The Mets just beat the Yankees 2-1 with a walk-off win in the bottom of the ninth off Mariano Rivera who gave up three straight hits without recording an out. It was the first time Rivera has blown a save without registering an out. Wow.. Matt Harvey started and pitched what I thought was one of the best starts [...]

Series Preview: New York Yankees
Series Preview This year, for the first time ever, the Mets and Yankees will be playing a four-game series with two games in Queens and two in the Bronx. After complaints from fans and new changes to the schedule this year, Bud Selig was forced to shorten these marquee interleague rivalries from six games to four. That’s probably a good thing for the Mets considering how good the Yankees are this year, and how bad [...]

Less Than Half Of Mets 2013 Payroll Is Contributing To The Team
Adam Rubin of ESPN New York posted an info-graphic from Baseball Tonight that showed a breakdown on this season’s Mets payroll commitments. The $22.3 million includes the $18,125,000 owed to Jason Bay and the $3M for his 2014 buyout. Basically, we have less than half of our total payroll on the field, much like we saw during the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Unfortunately, the Mets are no stranger to this phenomenon. It doesn’t really hit you [...]

LoDuca Is Game If Wright Wants Him To Pitch In Home Run Derby
Former Mets catcher Paul Lo Duca didn’t hesitate when asked if he’d be willing to pitch again to David Wright in the 2013 Home Run Derby. “Ok everyone is asking me,” Lo Duca said on Twitter. “If David wants me to throw the HR Derby I’m in. If not…no biggie. We did it last time for fun. Hope he wins.” The fiery catcher pitched to Wright during the 2006 Home Run Derby and helped him finish [...]

Dillon Gee started for the Mets and was torched for five runs on eight hits in five innings pitched. The big blow was a two-run homer by opposing pitcher Mike Minor. Gee now has a 6.34 ERA for the season, [...]

Mets Lose Suspended Game To Braves 7-5
The Mets played their first suspended game since Aug. 6, 1986 tonight and after Atlanta scored two runs in the top of the tenth inning, the Mets lost the game 7-5 to drop them 11 games under .500 for the season. Brandon Lyon allowed both Atlanta runs and took the loss. Right-hander Jeremy Hefner initially started the game for the Mets 18 hours earlier and delivered a gutty performance, allowing just two runs on three hits in [...]

David Wright Believes In “The Plan”
Mike Puma of the New York Post writes that David Wright has zero regrets, and continues to believe in the direction of the franchise. “I’m disappointed in our performance so far,” Wright told The Post. “As far as specifically what Sandy and I talked about and I guess the plan moving forward, a big part of that plan is pieces we have in the higher minor leagues.” David Wright, who signed an eight-year, $138 million contract extension [...]
