Rubin: Teams Asking For Zack Wheeler In Trade Discussions
According to Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com, teams have been asking for Zack Wheeler virtually every time the Mets try to engage in any trade discussions. Rubin says that even when the Mets are discussing platoon or back up catchers, Wheeler’s name has come up. Are you Kidding me? These teams can’t be serious. If general managers are being that delusional, it’s no wonder why the Mets have been unable to make a trade so far [...]

Quotes From David Wright’s Press Conference
“I knew this was where I wanted to be. It made the decision pretty easy. I think that my friends and family knew that putting this uniform on was important to me, start to finish.” “I never wanted to put a doubt in anyone’s mind that this is where I wanted to be. I never wanted to put another uniform on, and I’m happy I’m wearing this one. To me there was no thought of [...]

Is Mets Financial Situation Better Than What’s Been Reported?
Does the $138 million dollar Wright contract change your opinion on the Mets financial situation? Is it a sign that things are better than what is being reported? Ed Leyro – Things might be better, but until I see the Mets sign a big-time free agent instead of giving their money to players who were already here, I will have a modicum of doubt. XtreemIcon - No, that remains unchanged. I think after the Mets got off [...]

The Age Factor: Reason Mets Are Reluctant To Sign Dickey, Is Why Teams Are Reluctant To Trade For Him
If GM Sandy Alderson spent as much energy trying to sign R. A. Dickey as he has trying to trade him, the contract would be done by now. Alderson told reporters in Nashville he’s seeking a “difference maker,” for Dickey, which means a power-hitting outfielder, preferably from the right side. A difference maker, by definition, would mean a proven commodity, as Alderson said he’s seeking immediate help, not somebody the team will “hope” be a [...]

MMO Fan Shot: A Letter To The New York Mets
The year was 2000, and the Mets had just lost to the Yankees. Being 20 and in college, I was surrounded by Yankees fans that were giving me the business. I was left with only one reply, “wait until next year!, we will sign A-Rod and take this town over!”. Then the rumblings began about how A-Rod was a 24 and 1 type of player. Well, we all know how that worked out for the [...]
