Mets and Marlins Discussed A Jason Bay For Heath Bell Swap
According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, the Mets and the Marlins discussed a trade that would have sent Jason Bay to Miami for Heath Bell and John Buck before the trade deadline. Basically it’s a swap of bad contracts and underperforming players. Bell is 2-5 this season with a 5.66 ERA 41 1/3 innings pitched. He’s allowed 45 hits, 23 walks and struck out36 batters. Buck is batting .168 with a .287 on-base percentage [...]

Mets Make The Right Move, Do Nothing At The Deadline
July was a terrible month for Mets fans. After exiting the All Star break primed for a post season run, the season has spiraled out of control. Poor pitching, compounded by poorer execution at the plate and shotty defense have seen the Mets post season dreams, along with those of fans, shattered in short order. Understandably this has left the roster frustrated and the fanbase angry, but I’m happy to see that the front office [...]

What Is Sandy Alderson Watching?
Most of us didn’t expect the Mets to be active at the trade deadline, a thought emphasized by a stretch in which they lost 11 of 13 games. We didn’t move players off [...]

Despite Solid Effort, Harvey Gets No Defense or Run Support In Mets 4-1 Loss

Matt Harvey gave up three runs, only two earned, on four hits, three walks and seven strike outs in six innings pitched. After loading the bases in the second inning with nobody out, I [...]

A Funny Look at a Cure For The Mets Bullpen Woes

All the Mets fans are screaming “the bullpen!!!” Well Mets fans, I have figured out what the Mets have to do to get this bullpen back on its feet. There is only one player that can save the Mets bullpen and bring us back to the glory and dominance that was experienced in the mid 1980s. The following [...]
