The Mets have announced that they have signed RHP Scott Patterson to a minor league contract. Patterson, 33, has pitched in 26 games for the Tacoma Rainiers after signing a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners this off-season. Wally Backman Suspended For Three Games
Amy Moritz of the Buffalo News is reporting that the Triple-A Bisons will be without manager Wally Backman tonight and for the next two games. Backman earned a three-game suspension from the International League for his part in an arguement with Syracuse manager Tony Beasley in the middle of the fourth inning Friday night. Mets VP of Player Development Paul DePodesta said Gavin Cecchini, the Mets first round selection in the 2012 amateur draft, has fractured the tip of his middle finger, according to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York.
