Amazin’ Solutions – A Look At Left Field
The very hot topic lately with the Metsmerized Nation, and with Mets fans in general, has been the future of the Metropolitans’ outfield, and more specifically, Jason Bay’s future with the team. Mike B noted in his post earlier that Sandy Alderson has stated that the Mets are not simply going to eat Bay’s contract and release him. This all but crushes many Mets fans dreams of a team without the automatic out that we [...]

The Door Has Opened For Lefty Edgin
With the news of Byrdak going down the door has opened for Josh Edgin to show his stuff. Edgin, 25, excelled for Triple-A Buffalo and as a result pitched his way onto the Major League roster as our second lefty. Now with Byrdak out he becomes the number one guy and has a chance to earn that spot for next season. Byrdak will be a free agent come years end and if the Mets decide [...]

Alderson Says Mets Won’t Eat Bay’s Contract, Collins Responds By Saying Bay Will Platoon
Terry Collins told reporters after the game yesterday, that Jason Bay is now a platoon player in the outfield. His playing time will be dependent on who is on the mound. “We’re going to make some, certainly depending on who is on the mound, some adjustments out there,” Collins said. “We’ve got to get our left-handed bats in the lineup. Those guys have given us some good opportunities to win some games and they’re having [...]

The Binghamton Mets and New Britain Rock Cats played two on Tuesday night at NYSEG Stadium, with both teams taking one game of the doubleheader. Morning Grind: What Should Happen With Pelfrey This Winter?
In all the drama, the peaks and valleys throughout this season, most of us have forgotten about Mike Pelfrey, and the fact that he is entering his final year of arbitration coming off Tommy John Surgery. We’ve seen the roller coaster career of Pelfrey, and now it has reached the point where his time with the Mets is in severe jeopardy, and rightfully so. Pelfrey is making $5.68 million for a season in which he made [...]

Mets Lose Eighth Straight Home Game In 4-2 Loss To Fish
The Mets (53-57) lost to the Marlins (50-60) by the score of 4-2 tonight at Citi Field. It feels like this team is just without energy. I can not explain how or why but it just feels like a different team. The fight was once a fight for the wild-card … and now it is a fight to hit .500 again. I feel like every loss I write a recap for ends up feeling like a [...]
