Should The Mets Trade Santana?
It appears like such a shocking question to ask, but should the Mets deal their ace Johan Santana? The Mets have a great deal of money invested in the ailing ace who has failed to complete 30 starts since the 2008 season, his first year with the Mets. With Santana’s health in question and no clear return date, would it be in the Mets best interest to trade Santana in a deal similar to the deal the Padres made when they [...]

A Visit To Walter Reed To Support Our Wounded Heroes
This year’s visit to Walter Reed Army Medical Center was much different from last years. This year, the Mets team and staff had a real military man with them who understands how and why these visits are so important. Yes, Sandy Alderson is a retired Marine and a Vietnam veteran who served as a platoon commander and intelligence officer, among other jobs in Vietnam in 1970 and 1971. This year’s voluntary visit to Walter Reed [...]

Five In A Row! Mets Win 6-4 Against Nationals
Chris Young, in his first start off the disabled list had a poor outing, but the Mets offense and bullpen carried them through to a 6-4 series opening win versus the Nationals. Game Notes Chris Young struggled in his first start off the DL, going four and two-thirds innings allowing three runs on four hits, but all the runs scored on home runs, walking two and striking out three. Despite only the two walks, both [...]

Paulino Will Be Activated Friday
HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MAN? The Mets have confirmed that Ronny Paulino will be activated from the disabled list for Friday’s game in Philadelphia. Paulino caught all nine innings on Tuesday for Triple-A Buffalo and went 0-for-4. Original Post 4/26 Since the Mets first signed catcher Ronny Paulino on December 7th, he’s been pretty scarce in the Mets clubhouse. First it was a one month delay due to visa problems stemming from his PED suspension, then it [...]

Unlike Past Regime, This One Actually Has A Clue
Here are a couple of quotes from Paul DePodesta from Adam Rubin of ESPN NY. You can read the whole interview at ESPN. Regarding this year’s Draft Class: “We’re excited about it. We think it’s a pretty deep draft — not necessarily in every category, but in general. There are definitely some good top-end players. There’s no doubt. We’re going to have a good choice at 13. I think we’re going to have at least [...]

Mets Missing A Middle Of The Order Masher
I’ll cut to the chase. Something I’ve been thinking about recently and that I’ve mentioned a few times to friends lately is that the Mets really don’t have a real cleanup hitter. We play in a ball park that is quite obviously pitcher friendly and it can very well sap a few runs from any team playing there. Since the Mets haven’t loaded up on gap hitters that play to Citi Field (which isn’t too [...]

Game Preview: Mets @ Nationals
The Mets look to continue their hitting and pitching ways tonight as they start a six game road trip in DC. The last time these two teams met in New York, the Nationals were able to squeak out 2 of 3, and then things started to fall apart for the Amazins. The Mets look to get some revenge behind the first start Young will have off of the disabled list, as he goes against Jordan [...]

Gee Should Remain In The Rotation, Not Capuano
With Chris Young coming off the DL, the Mets have decided to opt D.J. Carrasco down to Triple-A and to place Dillon Gee in the bullpen. This move is not only endangering the further development of Gee as a pitcher, but also takes a great pitcher out of the rotation. What does not makes sense is why take Gee out of the rotation when Chris Capuano has a 5.95 ERA this season. Gee in two starts this season has [...]
