Around The Blogs In 80 Days: Baltimore Orioles Edition

Ok so the title of my post maybe a bit deceiving, no this feature will not last 80 days, but I thought it would be a cool project to go around the league and connect with bloggers from the other 29 MLB teams and have them weigh in on their teams. For my first stop of the tour, I check in with Daniel Moroz, founder of Camden Crazies, which is an excellent blog dedicated to [...]

Blowing Off Steam Before Hitting The Road…

I just finished reading a couple of different posts on some of the other Mets blogs I like to read, but both of them have left me scratching my head. Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn’t our stated goal that we should put a championship caliber team on the field in 2010? Is that not what Jeff Wilpon and Omar Minaya promised us during their appearance with Mike Francesa? As the title says, I have [...]

Will History Repeat: A Return To The Dark Ages?

The year 1976, when the Mets won 86 games, concluded an eight year (’69- ’76) period in which the Mets finished over .500 seven times.  Of course, prior to 1969, the Mets had seven consecutive losing seasons beginning in their inaugural season of 1962. Then began a drought from 1977 through 1983 during which the Mets finished last or next to last in seven consecutive seasons.  They lost between 94 and 99 games each season [...]

Omar A Drunken Sailor??? Not This Year…

Well Met fans, “Omar the Patient” continues to wait the marketplace out. But in reality as we all scream about our lack of moves to date, we should realize that Omar is actually being intelligent about this right now. He’s holding firm on being financially responsible as it pertains to Bay and Molina. Does that mean we can’t be angry about some of his foolish signings of the past like Luis Castillo or Oliver Perez? [...]

Omar in his kerchief and Wilpon in his cap, Had just settled their brains for a long winter’s [...]
