David Lennon, the New York Mets beat writer for Newsday on his twitter account has some news on Carlos Beltran and Jose Reyes and it’s not good, not at all.  On Reyes, Lennon says: “Reyes back in NYC. According to MiLB.com, Jon Niese was named International League pitcher of the week after compiling a 1-0 record and 1.06 ERA in two starts for the Bisons. Niese, who allowed 10 hits and struck out 14 in 17 innings, has rebounded to go 4-1 in his last six starts with a 1.04 ERA. Before the injuries started mounting, before the fielding and mental errors began to grow, the Mets’ front office made another error.  This error happened in the offseason and it was made by Omar Minaya.  The Mets could have acquired Jason Marquis from the Cubs for practically nothing and didn’t pull the trigger.
