Mets right-handed starter Zack Wheeler, who underwent Tommy John surgery last March, is making progress on his rehab from the operation reports Adam Rubin of ESPN New York.

The Mets open up a four game series with the Braves and Wheeler will visit with the team at Turner Field during the duration of the series while spending a couple weeks in his native Atlanta.

Wheeler is now throwing on flat ground at 70-75 feet. He is still planning to return to the majors in June or July of 2016.

Due to weather and other considerations, Wheeler plans to spend most of the off-season rehabbing at the Mets Spring Training complex in Port St Lucie, Florida.
