Yoenis Cespedes has won the National League Silver Slugger award for an outfielder, as reported on MLB Network.

Cespedes had a stellar 2016 campaign that saw the 31-year-old hit 31 long balls, while driving in 86 runs and hitting at a .280/.354/.530 clip in 132 games.

Cespedes opted out of his three year deal with the Mets several days ago, and has now hit the open market as the most appealing name in search of a five-year deal.

The two-time all-star won a Gold Glove in 2015, but this is the Cuban phenom’s first Silver Slugger award, and possibly the first of many.

Cespedes is the first Met to win a Silver Slugger award since David Wright in 2008 and the first Met outfielder to do so since Carlos Beltran in 2007.
