The Mets have announced that David Wright will be activated from the 15-Day Disabled List prior to tonight’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.
Wright has been on the disabled list since August 3rd with a grade two tight hamstring strain.
The Mets’ captain has hit 17 home runs at Citizens Bank Park during his career, the second-most in any visiting ballpark. (He has connected on 18 home runs at Atlanta’s
Turner Field) Wright also has 58 career RBI in Philadelphia, the most in any visiting city.
Sounds like perfect timing to me…

Terry Collins told reporters that he expects David Wright to be activated from the disabled list when the Mets play the Phillies this weekend.
Over the weekend I wrote that I’d bet anything Wright would be back in the lineup for the Giants series.
Wright continues to work his way back form a strained hamstring that shelved him over a month ago, and insists he’ll return this season.
“I think David is going to play, you’re going to see him back on the field before the season’s over,” said Collins.
“I think it’s going to be important for David to know he’s 100 percent healthy, and I think it’s important for our team, for our organization and our fanbase to know, ‘Hey look, our star is going to be OK when it comes spring.'”
Wright, 30, is batting .309 with 16 home runs and 54 RBIs in 105 games for the Mets this season with a .391 on-base percentage.
