New York Mets captain David Wright continued his rehab assignment with the Advanced-A St. Lucie Mets on Wednesday night.

After playing five innings in each of his first two rehab games, Wright played seven innings at third base and went 0-for-3 with a walk at the plate.

Wright, 35, hasn’t played in an MLB game since May 2016 (back, shoulder, and neck surgeries stemming from a spinal stenosis diagnosis).

In his first at-bat, the Virginia-native drew a five-pitch walk and was erased on a Jay Bruce double play ball in the next at-bat.

Wright fielded a fly ball in the top of the third and flew out to center field in the bottom half of the inning.

He grounded out to shortstop in the fourth and then flew out to center again in the seventh before being removed in the top of the eighth.

Wright’s gone 0-for-7 with two walks in nine plate appearances for the St. Lucie Mets. This was the third game he’s played in four days.
