Wednesday, November 2, 2022 – 8:03 p.m. EDT – Citizens Bank Park
World Series Game 4; Home 2 – FOX
RHP Cristian Javier (1-0, 1.35 ERA) vs RHP Aaron Nola (2-1, 4.57 ERA)

The Phillies slugged past the Astros on Tuesday night to a 7-0 win that gave them a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-seven World Series. Bryce Harper, Brandon Marsh, Kyle Schwarber, Alec Bohm, and Rhys Hoskins all homered for Philadelphia.

This is the third time the Phillies have led 2-1 through Game 3 of the World Series, and the previous two times resulted in the only World Series titles in franchise history (2008, 1980). This is the third time the Astros have trailed 2-1
through Game 3 and they went on to lose both previous series (2021, 2019).

Of the previous 93 times that a World Series has been 2-1, the team leading the series has gone on to win the Fall Classic 66.7 pct. (62 of 93) of the time, including the last five instances (2021 Braves, 2020 Dodgers, 2019 Nationals, 2018 Red Sox, 2017 Astros) and 11 of the last 14.

In Game 3, Alec Bohm’s solo homer in the second inning marked the 1,000th homer in World Series history, with the first 1,000 coming from 516 different players.
