The Salt River Rafters fell to 4-4 after losing by a score of  10-5 on Thursday. Four Mets prospects played in the River Rafters third straight loss.

Baty started at third base and batted second. He didn’t have his best offensive game, striking out four times and grounding into a double play in his five plate appearances.

Defensively, Baty played all nine innings of error free defense at third base. He caught a pop-up and, somewhat strangely, fielded four groundballs that all ended up being infield singles.

Cortes started at DH and batted cleanup. He wasn’t much better than Baty, but he did get hit by a pitch and scored from second base on a Wilmer Reyes triple. In his other three plate appearances, he struck out, grounded out, and flew out.

Reyes entered the game in the top of the sixth, replacing starter Buddy Kennedy at second base. He made the most of his two plate appearances, ripping a two run triple that pulled Salt River within a run of Glendale in the bottom of the sixth and drawing a two out walk in the eighth that loaded the bases.

Defensively, he didn’t make any errors and handled two groundouts.

RHP Colin Holderman: 0.2 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 1 K

Holderman struggled after he entered the game out of the bullpen to start the top of the seventh. He also gave up a wild pitch in addition to his four hits and one walk. Out of his 27 pitches, 16 were strikes.
