Will The Mets Find Their Offense In The Thin Air Of Colorado?

They say that there is no better way to pick up your offense then playing a series in the fresh thin air of Colorado.

Although Coors Field is not the same prolific homerun launching pad it once was, it still ranks right up there with some of the hitters parks like Citizens Bank Park, a haven that has transformed Jayson Werth and Chase Utley into this year’s version of the Bash Brothers.

How this series shapes up will go a long way into determining the immediate future of the Mets. If the Mets don’t come away from this final leg of the road trip on a positive note, the future may be pretty grim for some of them.

Obviously, Willie Randolph leads the hot list, and not in a good way either. He is most likely followed by Aaron Heilman who may already be on his way out according to some published reports. If Angel Pagan isn’t ready to play yet, the Mets may be forced to find a longer term solution for left field than an unproductive platoon of Endy Chavez and Marlon Anderson. Who knows… maybe even Carlos Delgado could force the Mets’ hand if he doesn’t find his stroke in Colorado.

Whatever happens, happens. I’m still pulling for a sweep of the Rockies and I still have a Mets fan’s optimistic hope that all of this drama becomes water under the bridge by Monday morning.
