With the final two games in Atlanta postponed until next Monday, all the Mets could do was watch on Wednesday. When they open their series in Milwaukee on Friday, the Mets will still control their own destiny, but almost certainly will need to win the series in order to lock up a postseason berth. Fangraphs raised the Mets’ playoff odds to 78.6% on Wednesday night, while the Braves’ chances dropped to 58.9%.

San Diego Padres (91-67, +3.5)

Fresh off clinching a postseason berth, the Padres took a 2-1 lead against the Dodgers on Tuesday night, but a pair of RBI knocks by Shohei Ohtani and four shutout innings from the Dodger bullpen gave Los Angeles a 4-3 victory. The Dodgers can clinch their 11th NL West title in 12 years with a win over San Diego this evening.

Arizona Diamondbacks (88-71, –)

Looking to avoid a sweep, the Diamondbacks fell into an early 1-0 hole on Wednesday night but responded by scoring three times in the bottom of the second inning, then tacked on with runs in the third and fourth. Zac Gallen struck out 11 Giants in six innings of one-run ball, and Pavin Smith put the game out of reach with a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning. Arizona has pulled even with the Mets for the second NL Wild Card spot, though the Mets hold the tiebreaker. Fangraphs playoff odds: 62.5 percent.

Atlanta Braves (86-71, 1.0 GB)

Following the pair of rainouts, the Braves face off against another playoff hopeful, the Kansas City Royals. Just like the Mets, Atlanta holds the tiebreaker over Arizona. Brian Snitker hasn’t yet announced his starting rotation for the series. Fangraphs playoff odds: 58.9 percent.
