With the non-waiver trade deadline passed and the Mets fading into obscurity thanks to mental mistakes and shoddy defense over the past week, one may begin to think where the Mets go from here or, more importantly, who goes. There are moves that could be made through waivers and here are several players that could be “traded”.

Jason Isringhausen – Let me get this out of the way, I have always respected Izzy and always will.  He is a great competitor who has won before. That’s why the Mets should try to get something done to move him. He can help a team, much like Byrdak, and getting him out of NY would allow the Mets to see of Parnell or Beato has what it takes to close ballgames.

Tim Byrdak – I for one was shocked that Byrdak didn’t get traded before July 31st. A lefty specialist such as himself could do a world of good for several playoff contending teams. If the right deal can be worked out, expect to see him get moved sooner than later, especially since he is only on a one-year deal.

Angel Pagan – This is a name that may surprise people but if possible I would do it. Pagan has been nowhere near the player he was last season and the excuse that he is a young player has long since passed. Also Pagan moving would clear the way for some younger players to get a chance, i.e Kirk Nieuwenhuis or Fernando Martinez. I know enough with the F-Mart but he is young and who knows what could happen if the position was his. A team may take a flyer on Pagan as a fourth outfielder, one who can play great defense when his head is on right, hit the occasional home run, and swipe some bags.
