The new No. 1 Mets Prospect made his organizational debut for the Mets on Monday night, pitching for the Single-A St. Lucie Mets where he was greeted to a three-run outburst in his first inning by the Dunedin Blue Jays who won the game 9-1.

Wheeler allowed four runs on seven hits and was removed from the game after four innings. He struck out four batters, walked none and threw one wild pitch while facing 19 batters.

He is slated to make his next start for St. Lucie on Saturday.

Before the game, Wheeler spoke to SNY about the trade, his feelings about joining the Mets, and what things he needs to work on toward in his development.
