zack wheeler out

The Star-Ledger reported that Zack Wheeler has been working on some mechanical adjustments and that the Mets are trying to address a couple of issues. Wheeler reportedly had a bad bullpen session on Wednesday prompting him to react angrily afterward.

“Any pitcher who doesn’t throw a good side isn’t happy about it,” Wheeler said. “It feels like a waste.”

Terry Collins was impressed by Wheeler’s emotional outburst and said he likes that type of bulldog mentality.

Wheeler allowed five runs in 4.2 innings in his last start against the Washington Nationals and is slated to pitch against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday at Miller Park. Overall he is 1-1 with a 5.06 ERA in three starts.
