The Brooklyn Cyclones prevailed in a win-or-go-home game against the Lowell Spinners Tuesday night, and were crowned New York-Penn League Champions!
The win marks the team’s first outright title since moving to Coney Island in 1986, and the first for manager Edgardo Alfonzo.
Third-round pick Matt Allan pitched three scoreless innings in Tuesday night’s game. Prior to joining the Cyclones, Allan went 1-0 with a 1.08 ERA with the GCL Mets.
Notable players Jake Mangum and Antoine Duplantis each earned two hits. Magnum singled in the 7th inning, followed by a Duplantis triple that drove Magnum home, securing the 4-3 lead.
The Brooklyn Cyclones are the 2019 New York-Penn League Champions! What an unbelievable season.
