Baseball America continued with their top prospects at each position feature on Thursday with one of the strongest groups, third base.

Of course, the group is led by Blue Jays’ uber prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr., then Nick Senzel of the Cincinnati Reds. New York Mets prospect Mark Vientos comes into the rankings at No. 15.

Vientos, turned 19 in December, has been a hot topic recently after being part of Prospects Live Top 100 list and Keith Law of ESPN ranking the youngster as his No. 60 prospect in baseball.

Ben Badler also chose Vientos as his breakout candidate from the group saying this, “There’s a sound swing, plus bat speed, a sharp eye for the strike zone, and I think there’s 25-30 home run potential. If he goes to low Class A Columbia and rakes early, I think we’re talking about a Top 100 guy soon.”

The right-handed hitting Vientos slashed .287/.389/.489 with 12 doubles, 11 home runs, and 52 RBI in 262 plate appearances last season for the Kingsport Mets of the Appalachian League (rookie level).

Vientos was the Mets second round pick in 2017 from American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida.
