According to Bart Hubbuch of the NY Post, Tim Redding will come off the DL and make his first start of the season on Monday against the Dodgers.
He also writes,
Redding, the former National who was signed to a one-year, $2.25 million deal in the offseason, has been sidelined since early in spring training with a strain in his right rotator cuff.
Redding will square off against Dodgers lefty Randy Wolf, whom the Mets considered in free agency before signing Redding.
Redding made two rehab assignments at Triple-A Buffalo, failing to record a decision in either game but notching a 2.77 ERA in 13 innings.
I figured Nelson Figueroa would get the start, with Redding working out of the bullpen initially. He pitched well during his rehab, so I hope that leads to some success with the Mets.
