todd frazier

According to nd Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports the Chicago White Sox have acquired two-time All-Star third baseman Todd Frazier from the Cincinnati Reds as part of a three-team deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Frazier, 29, hit 35 home runs and drove in 89 runs in 2015. In 678 plate appearances, he slashed .255/.309/.498 and also crushed 43 doubles. Newly Acquired Brett Lawrie will play second base for the White Sox now that they have Frazier.

White Sox prospects Frankie Montas, Micah Johnson, and Trayce Thompson are heading to the Dodgers who are getting a nice haul here.

The Reds are receiving prospects Jose Peraza, Scott Schebler, and Brandon Dixon from the Dodgers. Looks strange from the Reds POV. Why wouldn’t they want Montas – by far the best prospect in this deal?

Frazier is the lone player heading to Chicago.
