Live baseball on ESPN begins at 1:00 a.m. ET on May 5 with the NC Dinos taking on the Samsung Lions. Eduardo Perez and Karl Ravech will be calling the game.

Three former Mets players will be featured in this week’s televised games.

Chris Flexen

Former Mets starting pitching prospect signed with the Doosan Bears in early December. The right-hander struggled out of the bullpen in 2019 for the Mets (though in limited innings) despite a bump in velocity.

Flexen, 25 had a 6.59 ERA last year with the Mets in 13 2/3 innings. He made his Major League debut in July of 2017. He pitched like a guy that needed more seasoning in the minors (only 7 starts above A-Ball), posting a 7.88 ERA in 48 innings.

The Bears play are featured on ESPN at 5:30 a.m. ET on May 6.

Drew Gagnon

The 29-year-old pitched in the big leagues over the last two seasons for the Mets including his debut on July 10, 2018 when he allowed six runs in a start against the Phillies. He signed with the Kia Tigers in December.

Gagnon posted a 7.32 ERA in 35 2/3 innings with the Mets. His biggest highlight with the Mets came when he plunked Ian Desmond (after a home run by Daniel Murphy of course) that initiated the benches clearing for the Mets and Rockies.

Aaron Altherr

The Mets claimed Altherr off waivers from the Giants in May, not long after San Francisco picked him off waivers from the Phillies.

The Fresh Prince of Altherr went just 4-for-31 with 15 strikeouts in 26 games with the Mets.

NC Dinos scooped up Altherr during the offseason, they will be featured heavily this week with four games on ESPN including the Opening Day game.
