Mets fans, episode 19 is here!
This week’s show is a busy one with both Patrick Glynn and former MMO standout turned current Mets writer for SNY Jacob Resnick joining Mike and me for some great conversations about the announcement of Keith Hernandez number retirement, Jacob and Mike play a little game of “either/or” with some Mets prospects and much more!
Before Jacob was an up and coming baseball journalist, he was the third ever “Kid Caster” contest winner, ironically with SNY and infamously called a Jose Reyes home run live during a gamer in the booth with Gary, Keith, and Ron.
Here’s a little bit of what Jacob had to say about that special moment:
“I don’t even think I saw the ball after it was hit, I couldn’t even see over the monitors there were on the table. But you can hear in my voice when I say ‘back it goes’ and I held back for a couple of beats, looked around and heard the roar of the crowd so I figured that was indicative of what had happened…and then you know it just kind of happened. There’s a shot of me in the booth and the guys in it while it’s happening and after I say ‘and it’s gone’ I look around at the three of them like ‘did that really just happen?!’ and everything after that was just a blur.”
