Ask any die-hard fan of the Amazins and they’re sure to know that the New York Mets have the best record in baseball history on Opening Day with a nifty 35 wins and only 21 losses.
But did you know, that the Mets actually lost eight of their first nine opening day contests, and since 1971 they have been on an incredible 34-13 run, good enough for an amazing .723 winning percentage?
To celebrate today’s season opener at Citi Field against the St. Louis Cardinals, I’ve put together a Mets Opening Day Quiz to warm you up before Noah Syndergaard throws this afternoon’s first pitch.
