Following the press conference of Max Scherzer earlier this afternoon, the Mets will introduce their trio of signings from Friday in another presser this evening.

Infielder Eduardo Escobar (two years, $20 million), outfielder Mark Canha (two years, $26 million) and outfielder Starling Marte (four years, $78 million) will all get a chance to talk to the New York media while flanked by general manager Billy Eppler.

The team officially announced all three signings on over the last 24 hours and are squeezing in an introductory press conference just six hours before an impending MLB lockout. It should leave a nice taste in Mets fans’ mouthes ahead of what is expected to be a work stoppage that won’t end any time soon. No signings or contract negotiations can happen during the lockout.

Escobar, Canha and Marte will all play the 2022 season at 33 years old. They’ll bring much-needed veteran leadership, power and speed (and right-handedness) to a Mets lineup that already boasts Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, Brandon Nimmo and (for now) Jeff McNeil.

Check out the press conference live on YouTube and Twitter, and enjoy talking about it in the thread below!
