The Mets and St. Louis Cardinals tied 3-3 at First Data Field in New York’s second to last spring game.

Pitching

After officially being given a spot in the starting rotation, Robert Gsellman went out and pitched beautifully in his last start of the spring. Gsellman made one mistake, a three run home run to Matt Adams but that was all. He allowed three runs on five hits and struck out six over six innings. He finished the spring with a 2.31 ERA over five starts.

Jerry Blevins came in and pitched next, he gave up two hits and walked one but was able to get out of the inning unscathed.

Addison Reed recorded a scoreless inning of work. He allowed a walk and a hit, but got the strike out he needed with two on and two out. Reed has worked through his struggles and pitched well towards the end of spring.

Closer Jeurys Familia recorded a perfect inning of work next, striking out one.

Hitting

Yoenis Cespedes continued his red hot spring, picking up two hits; a triple and a single. Cespedes is hitting .396 this spring. He also made a beautiful catch in left up against the wall.

Neil Walker picked up two hits as well, a single and  a double.

Lucas Duda continued to show that his back appears to be fine. He smacked a game tying three run homer to centerfield.
