With Spring Training coming to a close, Sports Illustrated has released their predictions for the 2018 regular season.

The magazine has the Mets winning 88 games, good for the first wild card spot. They have them 12 games behind the Washington Nationals, but 14 ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies who SI thinks will go 74-88.

They predict the Mets will beat the Arizona Diamondbacks in the wild card game, but fall to the Nats in the NLDS. The Nationals are also predicted to go on and beat the New York Yankees in the World Series.

This year’s Washington team has a good chance to be even better,” SI wrote. “Adam Eaton, last winter’s big acquisition, is back after tearing his ACL in April and should be an upgrade over Jayson Werth in left field.

Sean Doolittle, Ryan Madson and Brandon Kintzler, acquired midway through last season to prop up the perpetually beleaguered Nats bullpen, will have a chance to make a greater impact in a full season. Washington also solidified the back of the rotation by adding Jeremy Hellickson.

According to SI, the Braves will come in fourth place with a record of 73-89, while the Marlins will bottom out at 63-99.

Other than the Nationals, the only other team predicted to win 100 games are the Houston Astros. No team will lose 100 games according to the predictions.
