Jett Williams stole his first Triple-A base of the 2025 season, and A.J. Ewing stole three bases in a Binghamton win to bring his 2025 total to 65 stolen bases across three levels.

Triple-A

Syracuse Mets (64-62) 9, Indianapolis Indians (73-52) 12

BOX SCORE

  • 2B Jett Williams – 1-for-3, 1 R, SB (1), 2 BB (.591 OPS)
  • RF Luke Ritter – 1-for-4, 1 R, HR (8), 1 RBI (33), 2 K (.688 OPS)
  • LF Jared Young – 3-for-5, 2 R, 2 HR (15), 2 RBI (41), 1 K (.964 OPS)

Jett Williams walked twice and stole his first Triple-A base, but has seen his OPS drop sharply since his hot start, hopefully due to a long season. Syracuse hit five home runs on Sunday. Ryan Clifford was placed on the temporarily inactive list.

  • RHP Brandon Sproat (4.50 ERA) 3 2/3 IP, 7 H, 7 R (5 ER), 2 BB, 4 K, 1 HR allowed (50 of 77 pitches for strikes)

Brandon Sproat had a rough outing in his first relief appearance, allowing four runs in his first inning of work behind two walks, a wild pitch and an error. Sproat was extremely hittable and susceptible to the stolen base, with four of the five Indians’ stolen bases occurring while he was on the mound.

Double-A

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (76-39) 12, Portland Sea Dogs (56-58) 10

BOX SCORE

  • CF A.J. Ewing – 3-for-5, 2B, 3 R, 3 SB (7), 1 BB, 2 K (.895 OPS)
  • DH Nick Morabito – 1-for-5, 1 R, SB (41), CS (9), 1 BB, 2 K (.758 OPS)
  • 1B Jacob Reimer – 3-for-5, 2 R, HR (8), 3 RBI (28) (.857 OPS)
  • Chris Suero – 2-for-4, 1 R, 1 RBI (14), 1 BB (.714 OPS)
  • DH Kevin Parada – 2-for-4, 2 R, HR (10), 1 RBI (45), 1 BB (.760 OPS)

A.J. Ewing ran wild on the Sea Dogs, notching three stolen bases and scoring three runs. Ewing is proving to be the catalyst for the Binghamton offense. Every Rumble Pony had a hit, and only Nick Lorusso didn’t score a run.

Ryan Lambert is on a heater in August, striking out 11 batters while only allowing three hits. Felipe De La Cruz has had an up-and-down season, but displayed his promising stuff on Sunday with solid results. He has walked zero batters in August with 11 strikeouts over seven and two-thirds innings.

High-A

Brooklyn Cyclones (68-52) 1, Aberdeen IronBirds (50-68) 3

BOX SCORE

Brooklyn had four hits, with three going for extra bases. Ronald Hernandez has had a hit in six of his last nine games. After having his strongest month as a professional in July, Boston Baro has slumped, slashing .173/.214/.212 in August with a 3/12 BB/K ratio in addition to his 20th error on the season.

  • RHP Hoss Brewer (2.35 ERA) 1 IP, 1 H, 1 unearned run, 1 BB, 1 K

In a bullpen game, the Cyclones sent out seven pitchers who only allowed one earned run, but allowed two unearned runs. Juan Arnaud has struggled since his promotion, sporting a 13.50 ERA and having walked five batters in four innings.

Low-A

St. Lucie Mets (71-48) 8, Palm Beach Cardinals (57-61) 1

BOX SCORE

  • 2B Mitch Voit 1-for-4, 2B, 1 R, 1 RBI (4), 2 K (.498 OPS)
  • LF John Bay – 1-for-3, 1 R, HR (3), 3 RBI (19), 2 K (1.057 OPS)
  • Daiverson Gutierrez – 1-for-3, 2B, 1 RBI (38), 2 BB, CS (4) (.682 OPS)
  • 1B Randy Guzman – 2-for-5, 3 RBI (17), CS (2), 1 K (.944 OPS)
  • SS Antonio Jimenez – 2-for-4, 2 R, 1 BB (.605 OPS)

Mitch Voit has a lot of swing-and-miss in his game, and it’s not a sustainable approach for success. Daiverson Gutierrez has put together a nice first full season for St. Lucie, showing some of the power that made him a highly-touted IFA, but he is still rough around the edges defensively

  • RHP Joel Lara (0.87 ERA) 4 IP, 1 BB, 4 K (28 of 52 pitches for strikes)

Joel Lara was a bit on the wild side, but managed to walk only one batter while striking out four in his four innings of work. While Lara has been promising this season, he has walked almost a batter an inning, but being a pitcher in full-season ball at 18 years old is nothing to scoff at.
