New Mets’ right-hander Rick Porcello takes the mound in his Mets Spring Training uniform. The team signed him to a one-year, $10 million contract.
Steven Matz throws a bullpen session in front of Mets’ coaches. His spot in the rotation hasn’t been guaranteed for this season with the team signing Porcello and Michael Wacha. Rojas claimed that every rotation spot is up for grabs, outside of Jacob deGrom.
DeGrom chats with Rojas while waiting to get on the mound for pitching drills. Rojas has already said that deGrom will get the Opening Day nod against the Washington Nationals at Citi Field on March 26.
