Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times confirms what many already suspected that the White Sox are not trading shortstop Alexei Ramirez.

White Sox GM Rick Hahn was never very motivated in trading Ramirez unless a team was willing to overpay.  “It’s certainly not something we’re pursuing on our end.”

Yesterday, the Cubs informed the Mets that Starlin Castro was not available. The 24-year old All Star hit .292 with 14 home runs and 65 RBI in 2014.

Xander Bogaerts is also off the market according to Jon Heyman and Bob Nightengale. Red Sox manager John Farrell told reporters in San Diego on Monday, “Xander is going to be a very good player for us for a long time.”

The shortstop trade market continues to dwindle for the Mets.
