According to Jerry Crasnick on Twitter, former Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada has signed a Minor League deal with the New York Yankees. He has also been invited to big league spring training camp.

After helping get the New York Mets to the 2015 NLDS until his leg was broken by Chase Utley, Tejada spent 2016 with the Cardinals and Giants organizations. He barely saw the light of day, playing in only 36 MLB games and hitting .167/.247/.242 with no home runs and five RBIs.

He was successful in 43 minor league games, hitting .303/.337/.414 with one home run and 21 RBIs.
