Here is some additional information regarding the recent demotion of Ruben Tejada.
According to a Mets Press release, Tejada will be playing shortstop today for the Bisons and will also get some work in at second base as the Mets try to make him more versatile.
At 20 years and 165 days old, Tejada will be the youngest player to appear in a game for the Bisons in almost 17 years. In 2009, Tejada was the youngest player in all of Double-A baseball.

Shortstop Ruben Tejada collected his first major-league hit Friday night against the Nationals, but after the game he was greeted with the news that no Major Leaguer ever wants to hear, he was headed back to Buffalo.
Tejada stroked an eighth-inning single to center field against right-hander Tyler Walker in Friday’s 8-2 win. But with Jose Reyes set to be activated for Saturday’s game, Tejada, as expected, was sent to Triple-A Buffalo to make room for him.
Tejada, 20, started two games this week and went 1-for-6 with a walk.
He looked quite adept in the field, and we’ll probably see Ruben again at some point this season.
