As the Mets continue to make changes to their front office, Matt Ehalt of Yahoo Sports reports that special assistant to the GM Ruben Amaro Jr. will not return to the Mets following the 2019 season.

Amaro was hired to be the first base coach under Mickey Callaway back in November of 2017. The former Phillies GM was shifted into the front office during the most recent offseason.

On Wednesday, it was reported by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic that the Mets will not retain pro scouting director Jim D’Aloia. He will remain with the team until his contract runs out on October 31.

SNY’s Andy Martino reported on Thursday night that the Mets have also told pro scouts Tim Fortugno, Lee MacPhail, and Tim Kissner that they will not return either after their contracts run out in October.

D’Aloia, former Yankee draft pick, has been the Mets director of pro scouting since 2012. He was a college teammate of former Mets assistant GM J.P. Ricciardi, and they both worked together with the Blue Jays.

Kissner stay with the Mets last only one year after his hiring was reported in March of 2019 to be a special assignment scout. He was previously the Mariners international scouting director.

MacPhail, like Kissner, was hired earlier this year and came from the Mariners organization.

Fortugno is a former major league pitcher that became well known after being traded for a bucket of balls.

This is the latest overhaul done by new Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen less than a year into the job. During his first offseason he brought in Jared Banner to be the new director of player development, Allard Baird to be vice president of scouting and player development, Adam Guttridge to be an assistant GM, and Rafael Perez as director of Latin operations.
