In a statement made on Twitter, Mets analyst and former player Ron Darling said that his thyroid cancer has been stabilized. He has been cleared to return to the booth and will be doing so for Tuesday night’s game.

“My doctors have informed me that my thyroid cancer has been stabilized for now and that I have been cleared to return to work,” Darling said. “The doctors will continue to closely monitor me over the next several months to assure my progress remains on the right track.”

“I look forward to rejoining my partners Gary and Keith in the SNY booth to call tomorrow night’s Mets vs. San Francisco Giants game at Citi Field.”

Darling revealed on May 6 that he had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and has been out of the booth since he announced a medical leave on-air on April 13. He underwent a successful procedure on April 17th.

Welcome back, Ron!
