Right-handed reliever Liam Hendriks is garnering his fair share of interest on the open market, according to reports.

Per Robert Murray of Fansided, the 31-year-old is meeting with the Toronto Blue Jays at their spring training complex in Dunedin, Florida on Monday, and has also drawn interest from the Dodgers (“strong interest”, per Murray) and White Sox, “among others”.

Hendriks has been one of baseball’s premier relievers in recent years, pitching to a 1.66 ERA (1.66 FIP) with 159 strikeouts and 22 walks over 97 appearances (108.1 innings) since the start of 2019.

His 5.2 wins above replacement (FanGraphs) accumulated over that span rank first in MLB among qualified relievers by a 1.8 fWAR margin (Kirby Yates, 3.4).

Mike Puma of the New York Post reported of the Mets’ interest in Hendriks on December 15, shortly after the team signed right-hander Trevor May to solidify the back-end of the relief corps.

Whether the Mets are still in the mix is unknown, but we’ll keep you posted of any new developments as they break.
