That’s another pitcher down. Jeff Passan of ESPN posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Erick Fedde signed a two-year $15 million contract with the Chicago White Sox. He was 20-6 with a 2.00 ERA for the NC Dinos in the KBO and was named the MVP this year as well.

The deal is pending physical. As of last night, Fedde’s decision was between the White Sox and the Mets.

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reported Monday that former Washington National Erick Fedde is down to the Chicago White Sox and the Mets. The right-hander is expected to earn a two-year deal around $10 million, which could become official on Tuesday. The New York Mets bolstered their starting rotation with the signing of Luis Severino just last week, but the organization is far from done.

Fedde pitched for the NC Dinos in the KBO last season, going 20-6 with an outstanding 2.00 ERA. He was also named as the league’s MVP, something that caught the attention of more than a few Major League Baseball teams. Fedde struggled during his six seasons in D.C., pitching to a 5.41 ERA in 454 1/3 innings. The 30-year-old played a key role in the Nationals rotation from 2021 to 2022, before moving over to the KBO last year.

The team has been linked to Jordan Montgomery, Eduardo Rodriguez, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. General manager David Stearns stated that the team is looking to add starting pitching, and if they can secure Fedde, the Mets rotation would add another starter with major league experience.
