Andy Martino of SNY reports that he knows a few of the names on the Mets preliminary list for manager.
Here’s the names Martino knows:
- Former O’s manager Buck Showalter
- Former Angels manager Brad Ausmus
- Astros bench coach Joe Espada
- Pirates bench coach Don Kelly
- Rays bench coach Matt Quatraro
Showalter seems to be the favorite of Mets fans on social media, including 71% of fans entering our poll saying the Mets should hire the veteran manager.
There are more names on the list that Mets GM Billy Eppler said was “wide” on Wednesday during the press Zoom for Max Scherzer, but they have not been revealed to this point.
