Per Mike Mayer of Metsmerized Online, Mets right-handed pitching prospect Blade Tidwell has been promoted to Double-A Binghamton from High-A Brooklyn.

Tidwell has spent the entirety of the season with High-A Brooklyn, where he is 8-3 with a 3.09 ERA over the course of 17 games he’s pitched in. He has given up 28 earned runs on 55 hits and 46 walks in 81 2/3 innings pitched. He has struck out 112 over the course of the season with a .190 AVG and a 1.24 WHIP.

In the South Atlantic League, Tidwell is ranked first in average with a .188 and strikeout percentage at 33 percent, and fourth in ERA with a 3.09.

Over his last 12 starts, Tidwell’s ERA is 1.56 and he hasn’t allowed more than two runs in any of them.

Tidwell was drafted with the No. 52 overall pick in the second round of the 2022 MLB Draft out of the University of Tennessee.

Over the course of his two-season career, Tidwell is 8-4 with a 2.97 ERA. He has given up a total of 30 earned runs on 59 hits and 53 walks over the course of 91 innings pitched. He has struck out 123 and has an average of .184 and a WHIP of 1.23.

Tidwell is ranked as the Mets’ No. 5 prospect. He has a fastball, curveball, slider, and changeup. His fastball averages 94-96 mph and tops out at 98 mph.

Tidwell will join Double-A Binghamton in Reading, PA, where the Rumble Ponies are playing the Reading Fighting Phils.
