Robert Murray of Fansided reports that New York Mets bullpen target Brent Suter has signed a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Reds. It pays Suter $2.5 million in 2024 with a $3.5 million club option ($500K buyout) for the 2025 season.

Suter, 34, pitched for seven seasons with Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns in Milwaukee. In 2023, Suter pitched with the Rockies and posted a 3.38 ERA and gave up only three home runs in 69 1/3 innings.

Suter was among the best in baseball in limiting hard contact, ranking in the 100th percentile in average exit velocity (84.1 mph) and 99th percentile in hard hit % (26.3).

Suter had a 3.51 ERA in 394 innings in his seven seasons with the Brewers.

In search for a second bullpen lefty, the Mets could now shift their focus to former Yankee Wandy Peralta. They have been previously connected to the left-hander.
