The New York Mets started the offseason with a whopping 17 arbitration-eligible players. However, that number was quickly trimmed down by the Mets non-tendering/outrighting Daniel Vogelbach, Trevor Gott, Elieser Hernandez, Luis Guillorme, Tim Locastro, Sam Coonrod, Jeff Brigham, John Curtiss, Michael Pérez, Danny Mendick, and Rafael Ortega.

They added two to the group when they acquired right-hander Adrian Houser and outfielder Tyrone Taylor via trade from the Brewers.

Here are the players the Mets current arbitration-eligible players:

  • 1B Pete Alonso – Signed for $20.5 million (projected to make $22 million)
  • RHP Drew Smith – Signed for $2.225 million (projected to make $2.3 million)
  • RHP Adrian Houser – Signed for $5.05 million (projected to make $5.6 million)
  • LHP Joey Lucchesi – Signed for $1.65 million (projected to make $2 million)
  • OF Tyrone Taylor – Signed for $2.05 million (projected to make $1.7 million)
  • LHP David Peterson – Signed for $2.15 million (projected to make $2 million)
  • OF DJ Stewart – Signed for $1.38 million (projected to make $1.5 million)

The Mets didn’t settle with right-handed reliever Phil Bickford. They will head to arbitration, with Bickford filing at $900K and the Mets filing at $815K.
