
Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, reports that the Los Angeles Dodgers are trading outfielders Yasiel Puig and Matt Kemp and left-handed pitcher Alex Wood to the Cincinnati Reds for right-handed pitcher Homer Bailey. Justin Rocke of USA Today reported that the Dodgers would also receive prospects RHP Josiah Gray and INF Jeter Downs.
Jon Heyman of FanCred Sports reports the Reds will also receive Kyle Farmer and $7 million from the Dodgers.
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Dodgers are expected to release Bailey and they will benefit from a luxury-tax perspective in the deal. Rosenthal expects the Dodgers to be aggressive after clearing money, with the possibilities ranging from signing Bryce Harper or trading for an Indians starter.
Kemp, Wood and Puig will become free agents after the 2019 season. MLB Pipeline had Downs as the Reds No. 7 prospect and Gray ranked No. 20.
