The Pirates and Rays have a deal in place for Chris Archer according to Stephen Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, the Rays will receive RHP Tyler Glasnow and OF Austin Meadows from the Pirates. There is also a third piece that is not known at the time.

Archer has a 4.31 ERA (93 ERA+) and 3.62 FIP for the Rays this season. He is under team control until the 2022 season.

The Pirates are seven games back in the NL Central and five back in the Wild Card chase. This move helps them in the future and the present. Meanwhile, the Rays will reportedly get a hard thrower and a former top OF prospect on the same day they get Tommy Pham.

We will update this post as more information gets released.
