The Mets extended their winning streak to four games as they defeated the Reds 6-1 Saturday night at Citi Field.

Pitching

Rafael Montero continued his stretch of strong pitching performances Saturday night. Montero played with fire, walking five but was able to limit the damage. Montero allowed only one run on four hits over five innings and struck out five.

Chasen Bradford pitched 1.2 hitless innings, and struck out four. Josh Smoker retired the only batter he faced in the seventh.

Jeurys Familia tossed a scorless eighth inning, and struck out one.

Jamie Callahan made his third appearance of his career, and threw a scoreless ninth inning to close out the victory.

Hitting

Kevin Plawecki got the scoring started in the second with his second home run, a two-run shot to the second deck in left.

Dominic Smith walked and singled home a run in the sixth.

Nori Aoki extended his hitting streak to eleven games, picking up a two run-single in the seventh. Asdrubal Cabrera doubled Aoki home a batter later.

Phillip Evans had his first big league hit, a hustle double down the left field line. Matt Reynolds went 2 for 3 with a run scored.
