The New York Mets will go for the four-game sweep against the Cincinnati Reds and will send Jacob deGrom to the mound to face Sal Romano. The game starts at 1:10 p.m. and airs on SNY.
Last night, the Mets beat the Reds 6-1. Rafael Montero started for the team and lasted five innings while only allowing one run. He wasn’t able to go deeper into the game because of the five walks he surrendered. However, it was enough as Chasen Bradford, Josh Smoker, Jeurys Familia, and Jamie Callahan were able to combine to throw four shutout innings of relief.
On the offensive side, Kevin Plawecki hit a two-run homer in the second inning to give the Mets a 2-1 lead at the time. The Mets extended that in the sixth and seventh inning on RBI singles from Dominic Smith and Norichika Aoki as well as an RBI double by Asdrubal Cabrera.
