The New York Mets defeated the Colorado Rockies 9-3 at Citi Field on Saturday night.

Pitching

Seth Lugo bounced back from his rough start in Washington with a solid start Saturday night. Lugo lasted 6.2 and allowed three runs on seven hits while walking a pair and striking out five.

Lugo held the Rockies scoreless through five, but faltered in the sixth allowed a sac fly and a double to plate a pair. Lugo was able to get out of the seventh as he allowed a two out triple to Charlie Blackmon, and his night was done.

Paul Sewald was able to pick up Lugo, as he stranded Blackmon at third by striking out DJ LeMahieu. Sewald then struck out Nolan Arenado to lead off the eighth before being taken out.

Jerry Blevins came to face a trio of left-handers. Blevins struck out Gerardo Parra and Carlos Gonzalez to get out of the inning.

Addison Reed struck out a pair and secured a 1-2-3 ninth inning in a non-save situation.

Hitting

The Mets offense picked up right where they left off from Friday night’s victory.

Michael Conforto and Asdrubal Cabrera led off the game with back-to-back walks. After a Yoenis Cespedes fly out, Jay Bruce stepped in with two on and one out. Bruce smacked a 1-0 Tyler Chatwood offering over the center field fence for his 24th home run of the season, a three run shot.

The Mets added another run in the first as Travis d’Arnaud drove in T.J. Rivera with an RBI single. d’Arnaud has driven in 30 runs on the season.

Rivera added an RBI of his own in the second as he singled home Cespedes. T.J. has lifted his batting average up to .304, and is currently riding a 10-game hitting streak.

A batter later, the Mets lead was extended to 7-0 as Lucas Duda doubled home both Rivera and Bruce.
