Notes –

The Mets defeated the Rockies on Friday, 14–2. Over the last 35 seasons, since 1982, only one other team won by a dozen or more runs in its first game after the All-Star break. In 2006, the Rangers won at Camden Yards, 15–1, in their “second-half” opener.

Josh Smoker continued his rehabilitation assignment with St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League. He worked 1.0 inning and allowed one run, earned, on three hits.

Over his last 12 games, Reyes is hitting .395 (17-43) with five doubles, one triple, two home runs and six RBI.

Let’s Go Mets!
