According to Jeff Wilson of the Star-Telegram, the Texas Rangers have come to an agreement with free agent catcher Yorvit Torrealba.

Anthony Andro of the Star-Telegram reported the terms of the contract as a two-year, $6.25MM deal that will pay the catcher $3MM in 2011 and $3.25MM in 2012.

Torrealba, 32, hit .271 last season with seven home runs and 37 RBI in 95 games.

I thought Torrealba was one of the better catchers available in a pretty slim market for backstops.

Bengie Molina now highlights a group that includes Rod Barajas, Gerald Laird, Miguel Olivo, Henry Blanco, A.J. Pierzynski and Jason Varitek.
